"Travelling and teaching with Tricia and Nancy was never dull!! They encouraged me to “open doors” (or cross roads) which always led to an exciting, if not daunting, experience. Before they first arrived in Perth I had only just started teaching and Joan Cole showed me Tricia’s Therapeutic Exercise book and suggested I incorporate the material into my classes. The approach really resonated with me so working with Tricia to expand the approach into all aspects of my teaching was such a bonus. The work we did together continued over many years. I also really appreciated having Tricia as supervisor during my PhD journey. Her down to earth practical advice was invaluable. "

"Pat has dedicated her career as a physical therapist, a traveling scholar, and most of all, a philanthropist. Her story was told as if the readers were sitting in her sun room in Marblehead, MA, USA, with wood burning stove on after the Thanksgiving dinner. Pat would be surrounded by students and friends from different parts of the world

Pat would be surrounded by students and friends from different parts of the world gathering around her. It reads like a cup of warm tea on a cold day!"

"Dr. Patricia Sullivan is truly a miracle worker. While in Nepal on a Rotarian Humanitarian trip in 2019 to open seven new physiotherapy units with Dhulikhel Hospital I witnessed one miracle after another performed by Dr. Sullivan. Here are just a few examples: she helped a villager walk on crutches after years of crawling on the ground; a soldier suffering from a brain infection, who was left on the side of the road and literally dragged into the unit, walked out of the building with assistance from Tricia and her students after only one therapy session; while I was videotaping a session where she helped a young child with severe cerebral palsy bounce on a ball for the first time while holding his head up, well…the tears were streaming down my cheeks. This expedition was made possible by Dr. Sullivan and was the highlight of my life in regards to providing help and hope to the most deserving people I have ever met. She brings hope and joy wherever she goes – this book is a must read for anyone who wants to share in her journey of miracles."

"As a physical therapist who began international teaching and practicing in southeast Asia in the early 1980’s and continued doing so worldwide for forty years including eight years as President of World Physiotherapy (WCPT), I am delighted to see the extensive international physical therapy experiences that Pat has detailed in this book.
For anyone interested in having a broad based perspective of physical therapy education and physical therapy service delivery, Pat’s global journeys over thirty years in twenty countries provides just that. One can follow her expeditions from the teaching time in Perth Australia, to the consultant activities in many countries, and finally to the eye opening and challenging experiences in Nepal. She brought to each of these endeavors an extensive varied clinical and teaching background that enabled her to adjust from the best equipped, most ideal environments for physical therapy service delivery to the least and many times non-equipped, most challenging environments. Her skill and brain were important throughout all of these endeavors, but her resourcefulness and inventiveness were needed even more. What resonates throughout this book is what I think are the most important attributes that one most have for international physical therapy work and that is great compassion and an in-depth awareness of the cultural and social mores of the country and its people. For physical therapists contemplating international work, reading Boston, Bangkok, Bombay & Beyond: Journeys of a Physical Therapist is a must."
